Hayato Makabe is a broke, friendless high school nobody. One day, a strange man in a lab coat—Myakuzuka—appears in his classroom. He distributes special contact lenses, and when worn, each student can suddenly see a number floating above everyone’s heads:
Their number of friends.
Then comes the real shock.
“In 24 hours, the student with the lowest number… dies.”
